This system is widely used in older Victoria type properties where the condition of damp walls may be poor. The membrane is sealed to walls and ceilings by means of special sealed fixing plugs. A floor is usually dug out, a damp proof membrane fitted then either concrete or a floating floor fitted on top of the membrane. Walls can either be dry lined with insulation or boarded and skimmed.
